Ramjac Live at the Brain 2009

In 1990 Ramjac recorded a live set at the legendary Brain Club in Wardour Street, London. Live House music, which ultimately gave rise to Orbital, the Shaman, Mixmaster Morris and everything since, was buzzing around London and the UK. Ramjac was on the bill and sharing tourbusses with these artists and indeed Orbital are on the Live at the Brain album too.

In 2009, Mark Wigan, co-founder of the Brain club held a re-union at the Dex club in Brixton, which has one of the nicest sound systems in London, made by Funktion One. Graeme Park was the top DJ for the night and Ramjac played a live set including Cameroon Massif, the tune which became a classic on both sides of the Atlantic way back when in clubland.

The MC for Ramjac's set is Milo Lapis of the 50-50 sound System who play a Roots & Culture show every week on London's Resonance FM on a Wednesday night, 11pm-1am. All the tunes in the Ramjac set are from 88-92 and remixed recently or live on the spot. The techniques remain pretty much the same as almost 20 years earlier, just the technology has been updated a little. Enjoy :)
